Coleshill Village is set high in the Chilterns amidst wood and farmland - an area of 'greenbelt' designated to be of outstanding natural beauty. Red Lion Cottage is one of four brick and flint stone 16th Century period cottages. It is completely self-contained and ideal for a family holiday cottage whilst visiting England. Heathrow is easily available by means of the A355 - about 35 mins. London (40 mins.) is 28 miles away and accessible by the M40 motorway or direct by Metropolitan underground Tube and British Rail from nearby Amersham (10 mins.), or Beaconsfield.

  -   The Cottage is available all year for minimum weekly rentals.
  -   The rental may be paid in USD.

Local car hire can be arranged in advance. Transport from Heathrow to Coleshill can be arranged.

UPSTAIRS BEDROOM 1: Double bed, fully carpeted, dressing table, chest of drawers, etc.

UPSTAIRS LANDING: Toilet and shower, hand basin.

SURROUNDING ATTRACTIONS:

The immediate area surrounding Coleshill offers some of the following attractions:

The old market town of Amersham and the picturesque town of Beaconsfield. In the nearby village of Penn the famous 'Hit or Miss' Pub, while at Forty Green reputedly the oldest Pub in England 'The Royal Standard of England!'

The village of Jordans is the burial place of William Penn, Quaker, and founder of Pennsylvania -USA. Old Jordan is the original meeting place of the Quakers and the little brick 'Friends Meeting House' still stands just outside the village. Chalfont St. Giles boasts of John Miltons Cottage and museum.

The Thames Valley with the glorious Bumham Beeches and Cliveden (Former home of the Astors) is just above 'Cookham' (Stanley Spencer Gallery) on the banks of the Thames. Marlow, Henley, Sonning, etc. are all easily reached upstream with many riverside inns and restaurants. Downstream you find Maidenhead (Boulters Lock) Bray (Restaurant of the Year), Windsor and Eton. The Saville Gardens in Windsor Great Park offer some of the finest sights in the Thames Valley.

35 mins. along the M40 motorway is Oxford, surrounded by many delightful Cotswold villages; nearby Woodstock (Blenheim Palace -Sir Winston Churchills birthplace) and Burford.

One and a half hours drive from Coleshill takes you deep into the much loved Cotwolds with Cirencester (Roman town), Cheltenham and Bibury.

North West takes you to Aylesbury and onward to Stratford-on-Avon easily visited in a day trip. The M1 and M25 motorways to North England and Scotland are joined at Watford about 20 mins. away, and the M4 and M3 motorways to the West Country and Wales are about 30 mins. away. Whilst car hire is not essential and public transport is available, car hire is recommended to take best advantage of exploring the area. As an alternative - from a Coleshill base it is easy to link up with the huge network of footpaths which pervade the loveliest Chiltern countryside.

PRICING:

We require a weekly rental of (pounds sterling) STG £400.00 per week all inclusive with telephone calls extra. Linen is supplied weekly. We request that rentals are a minimum of one week, generally commencing on a Saturday but this is subject to availability and negotiation. We request a STG £100.00 per week deposit when bookings are made.

We are quite happy to accept personal USD cheques converted at the current USD rate to Sterling, but please add USD 15.00 to cover bank charges. We do not, however, accept credit cards. Once we have finalised your booking we will send due confirmation and the rental will be due 30 days prior to your arrival. All clients are strongly advised to carry cancellation insurance as if we are unable to re-let at short notice you may be required to forfeit some or all of the rental.

Due to the amenities available the cottage may not be suitable for those with certain handicaps.
